Orangeries

Orangeries are fast becoming one of the most in-demand extension options here in Buckinghamshire. Previously much less sort-after than a conservatory, orangeries are now popular in their own right. They take many of best elements of a traditional house extension and blend them with a conservatory, leaving homeowners with the perfect best of both worlds.

With this, they still feel light and airy during summer thanks to glazed roof systems. However, these are instead blended with larger areas of brickwork, helping it feel like a true extension of your home during winter. This ‘room-like’ feel enables an orangery to be used for a multitude of purposes, whether you’re hoping to use it as a social space, a dining area or even a kitchen or office.

FAQs

Orangeries are often described as a variant of a conservatory, yes. However, they are still an extension within their own right.

Orangeries take around a month to be installed, give or take. However, this varies depending on the size and the style of the extension.

As standard, orangeries are considered a ‘permitted development’ meaning they normally pass planning permissions requirements. However, checking is never discouraged.

Our orangeries are available with a traditional glazed roof, or with one of our Atlas or Roofmaker lantern roofs instead.

Orangeries vary in prices depending on size and style. As a result, it’s better to price one up using our quoting engine to decide whether or not they’re within your budget.
